Local trails

Grantown-on-Spey is located at the centre of a rich network of trails, both national trails such as the Speyside Way and local trails like the new health trail at the health centre. From the town you can access a wide variety of walks, long and short, which allow you to explore the surrounding countryside straight from your door, on foot or by cycle.

From Grantown you can easily set off on two long-distance paths – the established Speyside Way, which runs from Aviemore to the coast at Buckie, and the 24-mile  Dava Way to Forres.

If you’re looking for a shorter route, download the Grantown-on-Spey paths leaflet or pick up a copy at Grantown Museum, or follow one of  Duncan’s Wee Walks, or the Heritage Trail.

With more walks in Anagach Community Woodlands and routes to neighbouring communities, it’s easy to explore the local area on foot or by bike. If you’re heading out by public transport or by car, you can reach the mountainous uplands of the Cairngorms and a wide range of other routes throughout the National Park.
