Inverallan Parish Church

church of scotland logoInverallan Parish Church is a Church of Scotland denomination, serving the parish of Inverallan in which the main town is Grantown-on- Spey. Adjacent to Inverallan Parish are the parishes of Cromdale & Advie and Dulnain Bridge. These 3 parishes are now linked which means that one Minister serves these 3 communities although the organisation of church affairs within each parish remains within the remit of the individual Kirk Sessions . Our Minister is Rev. Gordon Strang ; he has the responsibility of leading worship in each of the 3 parishes every Sunday morning but has an assistant Rev. Mary Duncanson.

Our aims are to serve our local community through the provision of religious services such as worship, baptisms, marriages and funerals; we provide pastoral care for everyone who requests assistance whether they are members of the Church or not. Within our parish linkages, we offer Rhyme Time for pre-school children on term time Wednesdays (based in Cromdale Church) and Messy Church for all ages on Sunday Afternoons throughout the winter (based in the Wheatley Hall, St. Columba’sChurch).

Our Minister meets primary school pupils once a week and our Youth Worker contacts secondary school pupils. Our visiting team see inverallan parish churchvulnerable elderly in their homes, in Ian Charles Hospital, Grant House care home and Grandview Care Home. Volunteers also run a monthly Sunday afternoon tea party for lonely people. Our objective is to make our church buildings open and friendly to all in the community; we see the need to adapt the buildings to the needs of community groups and are developing plans towards that objective.
